Infrared radiant heater IR 2050
With the power of 2,000 Watt of infrared heat – with remote control, reduced light radiation and 3 heating levels
ENDLESS SUMMER EVENINGS IN WINTER
Surely you're familiar with this: When the days get shorter and the temperatures get cooler, you inevitably develop a desire for summer, sun and warm temperatures. Wouldn't it be nice if you could enjoy summery temperatures outdoors throughout the whole year? With the design aluminium radiant heater IR 2050 you can turn this thought into more than just wishful thinking. Extend your outdoor times on the balcony, the terrace, or in outdoor catering areas to 365 days a year. Make yourself independent of the seasons and use an infrared radiant heater as effective heat source to spend your time outdoors even if the days get cooler.
365 days of summer feeling – infinite possibilities
The infrared radiant heater IR 2050 is suitable for both the private and the commercial use outdoors. No matter whether you want to supply the balcony or the terrace with pleasant warmth on cool evenings. Or as a comfortable heat source for outdoor catering areas – your guests will love the agreeable instant heat.
Convincing professional equipment: Low-glare, remote control, 3 heating levels
In order to regulate the heat intensity, the IR radiant heater with its length of 63 cm is provided with 3 heating levels with 750 watts, 1,500 watts and powerful 2,000 watts. Change-over between the heating levels is achieved conveniently by means of the remote control supplied. Owing to its angle of inclination which can be steplessly adjusted by 45°, the rain-proof infrared radiant heater directs the instant warmth exactly to the places where it is needed. Good to know: The IR 2050 is especially suitable for allergy sufferers. In contrast to electric heaters, the clean and condensation-free instant heat is generated and distributed without raising dust. The odourless and noiseless warmth is provided directly after switching on the device without any preheating. Another advantage of the IR 2050 is its modern low-glare infrared ray technology. Owing to this technology, the IR 2050 works with 80 % less light emission. Detailed information regarding the low-glare principle will be provided below.

PERFECTLY PROTECTED AGAINST DUST AND RAIN
Whether there is heavy rain or snow, clouds of dust or a high pollen count: The robust infrared radiant heater IR 2050 is optimally equipped for almost any use in roofed and non-roofed outdoor areas. The design aluminium housing with its IP65 type of protection protects the device technology reliably from dust, pollution and splash water from all sides. Hence, the IR 2050 can be recommended for heating applications throughout the year. Unpack, install, and – ready: The infrared radiant heater is supplied together with mounting brackets, screws and dowels for wall mounting so that you can directly install and use it. Please note that the IR 2050 is not suited for ceiling installation.
Infrared heat: As pleasant and natural as the sun
The infrared radiant heater IR 2050 heats according to the natural principle of the sun. In contrast to devices with heating wires, infrared rays do not heat the ambient air but exclusively the surfaces and persons which they reach. The objects illuminated (for example the wall, floor, chair, table, etc.) absorb the heat and store it to then slowly release it again. The objects therefore serve as additional energy and heat storage units, even when the device is switched off, additionally increasing the efficiency of the infrared radiant heater IR 2050. The heat radiation generates a pleasant feeling of warm sunrays in summer on the skin.
Everyone feels temperatures in a different way. Our individual heat sensation is for example influenced by the distance to the heat source. The smaller the distance to the radiant heater, the smaller the area illuminated – the greater the distance to the radiant heater, the greater the area illuminated. The infrared radiant heater IR 2050 with its powerful 2,000 watts is suitable for surfaces in outdoor areas of approx. 8 to 14 m². Please observe that the area to be heated should be sheltered from the wind, since the warming effect may otherwise be neutralized by the air flow. Our calculation aid below helps you to determine the heating capacity required.
LOW GLARE: 80 % LESS LIGHT EMISSION
Conventional infrared heaters often emit an intensive orange-reddish light together with the heat radiation, which is perceived as warm and cosy by many people. However, to prevent the environment from being illuminated too strongly, the IR 2050 from Trotec is provided with a short-wave infrared tube with light-reducing low-glare technology.
Romantic candle-light atmosphere
The low-glare shortwaves produce a larger portion of infrared light from the invisible range – and with an undiminished heating capacity. The infrared radiation is further collimated by an innovative coating procedure of the tubes that reduces the scattering loss. The Trotec radiant heater IR 2050 achieves an overall brightness reduction of up to 80 % at a lifetime of approx. 6,000 hours.
Full heat output with a reduced brightness
Since the perceptible light is substantially reduced, the environment almost conveys the impression of a cosy candle-light atmosphere, creating a perceptibly more pleasant ambience. An existing lighting concept on the terrace or in catering areas is altogether much less affected.
Just a small tip in case you’re wondering: The low-glare heating tubes have the same intensive reddish appearance when you look at them as conventional infrared radiant heaters without low-glare. Actually, however, they emit 80 % less of visible light. With the same heat output and for more comfort and romance.

Overview of the maximum heating range to be covered by a 2,000 watt infrared radiant heater:
You can proceed as follows to calculate the heating capacity (in watts) required for your room size:
Formula: m² x W/m² = W
room size (m²) x recommended heating capacity per square metre (W/m²) = required heating capacity of the infrared radiator (W)
Sample calculation: For a well insulated room sized 20 m² we recommend the following heating capacity: 20 m² x 100 W/m² = 2,000 W
