Design infrared radiant heater IR 2200
Infrared heat (2,200 W) to meet the highest demands for wall and ceiling mounting – including a remote control and 2 heating levels
All right. Warm. In winter and outdoors.
The terrace, balcony and loggia are places used with pleasure in summer to enjoy the healthy air outdoors. If it weren’t for the weather conditions that we’re so dependent on when we want to enjoy the pleasant time outside even when there is no bright sunshine.
Oases of warmth in outdoor areas, irrespective of the time of year
With the cutting-edge infrared radiant heater IR 2200 you’ll make your enhanced living and office space outdoors independent of outdoor temperatures and seasons. Spring, summer, autumn or winter – the infrared radiant heater that stands out with regard to its looks and its quality of generating warmth provides instant heat with two selectable heating levels at every time of year and every time of day. In this way, popular outdoor areas can be utilised even on chilly days or evenings for enjoying a cosy meal together with the family, spontaneous meetings with friends or for a relaxing get-together under a clear starry sky. In the commercial restaurant trade, the IR 2200 provides for additional seating areas outdoors and a perceptible increase in sales in outdoor catering areas.
Can be used as wall and radiant ceiling heater
Equally flexible with regard to its possible applications, the modern IR 2200 shows off its industrial look where its fastening options are concerned. For easy ceiling mounting, a decorative wire rope system with quick-release screw connection is already included in the scope of delivery. A wall holder that is also supplied allows for fastening the radiant heater horizontally or vertically on the wall. The joint of the wall or ceiling fastening mechanism, which can be swivelled by 45° makes it possible to precisely align the heat rays to the seating or table arrangements.
Undiminished feel-good ambiance at the touch of a button
The pleasant infrared heat of the radiant heater with its length of 1,039 mm is perceptible on the skin directly after the device is switched on. For adjustment of the heat intensity, the IR 2200 features two heating levels with 1,100 watts and 2,200 watts, respectively, selectable via the remote control supplied. To prevent the light emitted by the radiant heater from disturbing the atmosphere of the surrounding area, an infrared tube with cutting-edge low-glare technology works in the interior of the IR 2200, reducing the light emission by 80 percent. Unpack. Install. Switch on. Feel good.
The time outdoors is too precious to sacrifice to bad weather conditions. The infrared radiant heater IR 2200 is the economically attractive solution for utilising outdoor areas throughout the year.

Infrared heat: As pleasant and natural as the sun
The infrared radiant heater IR 2200 heats its direct surroundings according to the natural principle of the sun. In contrast to devices with heating wires, the infrared rays of the IR 2200 do not heat the ambient air but exclusively the surfaces and persons which they reach. The objects illuminated (for example furniture, wall and ceilings) absorb the heat and store it to then slowly release it again. The objects therefore serve as additional energy and heat storage units – even when the device is switched off, additionally increasing the efficiency of the infrared radiant heater IR 2200. The heat radiation generates a pleasant feeling of warm sunrays in summer on the skin.
Everyone feels temperatures in a different way. Our individual heat sensation is for example influenced by the distance to the heat source. The smaller the distance to the radiant heater, the smaller the space illuminated – the greater the distance to the radiator, the larger the space illuminated. The infrared radiant heater IR 2200 with its powerful 2,200 watts is suitable for surfaces in outdoor areas of approx. 9 to 15 m². Please observe that the area to be heated should be sheltered from the wind, since the warming effect may otherwise be neutralized by the air flow.
Our guideline for calculation which can be found below will help you to determine the heating capacity required.
As clean as nature – without any disturbing emissions
In particular allergy sufferers and people with a sensitive respiratory tract will pleasantly feel the beneficial effects of the infrared radiant heater and will no longer want to do without them. In contrast to electric heaters, the clean and condensation-free instant heat is generated without raising dust and without producing any disturbing noise or odours.
Low-glare: 100 % warmth, 80 % less light
Conventional infrared heaters without low-glare technology often emit an intensive orange-reddish light together with the heat radiation, which is perceived as warm and cosy by many people. However, to prevent the environment from being illuminated too strongly or even having a bothersome effect, the IR 2200 from Trotec is provided with two short-wave infrared tubes with light-reducing low-glare technology.
Advantages of the low-glare technology
Romantic candle-light atmosphere: Low-glare shortwaves produce a larger portion of infrared light from the invisible range – and with an undiminished heating capacity. The infrared radiation is further collimated by an innovative coating procedure of the tubes that reduces the scattering loss. Trotec radiant heaters with low-glare technology therefore achieve an overall brightness reduction of up to 80 % while providing a lifetime of approx. 6,000 hours.
Full heat output with a reduced brightness: Since the perceptible light is substantially reduced, the direct environment of the radiant heater conveys the impression of a cosy candle-light atmosphere, creating a perceptibly more pleasant ambience. An existing lighting concept on the terrace or in catering areas is altogether much less affected.
Just a small tip in case you’re wondering: Low-glare heating tubes have the same intensive reddish appearance when you look at them as conventional infrared radiant heaters without low-glare. Actually, however, they emit 80 % less of visible light. With the same heat output – for more comfort and romance.

Overview of the maximum heating range to be covered by a 2,200 watt infrared radiant heater:
You can proceed as follows to calculate the heating capacity (in watts) required for your room size:
Formula: m² x W/m² = W
room size (m²) x recommended heating capacity per square metre (W/m²) = required heating capacity of the infrared radiator (W)
Sample calculation: For a room sized 20 m² with very good insulation quality, we recommend the following heating capacity: 22 m² x 100 W/m² = 2,200 W
