Infrared radiant heater IR 2005
3-in-1 wall- or ceiling-mounted or floor-standing infrared radiant heater for intensive instant heat (max. 2,000 W) for outdoor heating – with remote control and four heating levels
Mega heating capacity. Mini space requirement.
Impressive in shape, colour and size, the matt black IR 2005 infrared radiant heater is ideal for uncomplicated heating of balconies, terraces, trade fair and market stalls, outdoor events, seating and standing areas in outdoor catering areas and similar zones with only limited space requirements. Whether in the cold winter, in spring when temperatures are still fresh or on unexpectedly cool summer nights – the IR 2005 radiant heater with digital display and remote control enriches outdoor areas with pleasant summer temperatures all year round without taking up much space.
Warm outdoor temperatures made easy
The compact dimensions alone make it clear that the visually appealing radiant heater for wall, ceiling and tripod mounting is anything but a heavyweight. The slim and lightweight IR 2005 convinces with its particularly easy handling and with maximum functionality and heat intensity at the same time.
The radiant heater has a width of 90 cm and floods larger areas of up to 14 m² with targeted instant heat. Thus, the device creates temperature-independent feel-good oases at the touch of a button – without disturbing the surrounding atmosphere with intrusive red light. In contrast to conventional halogen heating tubes, the high-quality carbon infrared tube (approx. 10,000 hours of light) emits 80 percent less red light, but all the more pleasant infrared heat.
Can be used as a wall and ceiling radiant heater as well as for mounting on a tripod
The infrared radiant heater convinces with maximum versatility upon installation. As a wall and ceiling radiant heater, the IR 2005 provides seating areas, bar tables and outdoor lounge areas with odourless heat without any preheating time. To ensure uncomplicated installation of the carbon radiant heater, the scope of delivery includes a 45° swivelling mount including screws and wall plugs. The radiant heater, which comes equipped with an 1.80m power cable, can also be fastened to tripods to additionally extend the application radius. The IR 2500 can be used flexibly as a floor-mounted device.
Cosy warmth and well-being at the touch of a button
The pleasant infrared heat of the radiant heater is perceptible on the skin directly after the device is switched on. To adjust the heat intensity to your needs, the IR 2005 has four heating levels with 800 watts, 1,200 watts, 1,600 watts and 2,000 watts of heating capacity that can be selected via the integrated control panel or the remote control supplied.
Efficient outdoor heating is not a question of size. The IR 2005 infrared radiant heater extends the outdoor season on balconies and terraces without taking up much space.
IRS 2010 E
Pedestal radiant patio in the same design
You like the stylish design of the radiant wall and ceiling heater IR 2005, but you’re looking for a pedestal radiant heater? Then we have something for you: The IRS 2010 E matches the IR 2005 radiant wall and ceiling heater perfectly in terms of appearance but can also be used as a mobile floor-standing device.
Scheduling warmth outdoors
For the energy-saving programming of a predefined operating time, the IR 2005 is provided with a practical 24-hour timer. Once set, the radiant heater switches off fully automatically after a preselected number of hours (1-24 hours). In this way, unnecessary operating expenses are reduced, and in particular the utilisation for commercial use is facilitated.
Weatherproof design guarantees safe warmth
For maximum safety, the infrared radiant heater is equipped with a self-triggering overheating protection. If the maximum permissible operating temperature of the radiant heater is exceeded, a safety thermostat switches the IR 2005 off fully automatically. Another asset – especially for professional use in the restaurant trade – is the design aluminium housing constructed in compliance with the IP55 type of protection which reliably protects the water-jet-proof infrared radiator from wind and rain.
Infrared heat: As pleasant and natural as the sun
The infrared radiant heater IR 2005 heats its direct surroundings according to the natural principle of the sun. In contrast to devices with heating wires, the infrared rays of the IR 2005 do not heat the ambient air but exclusively the surfaces and persons which they reach. The objects illuminated (for example furniture, wall and ceilings) absorb the heat and store it to then slowly release it again. The objects therefore serve as additional energy and heat storage units – even when the device is switched off, additionally increasing the efficiency of the infrared radiant heater IR 2005. The heat radiation generates a pleasant feeling of warm sunrays in summer on the skin.
Everyone feels temperatures in a different way. Our individual heat sensation is for example influenced by the distance to the heat source. The smaller the distance to the radiant heater, the smaller the space illuminated – the greater the distance to the radiator, the larger the space illuminated. The carbon infrared radiant heater IR 2005 with its powerful 2005 watts is suitable for surfaces in outdoor areas of approx. 8 to 14 m². Please observe that the area to be heated should be sheltered from the wind, since the warming effect may otherwise be neutralized by the air flow.
Our guideline for calculation which can be found below will help you to determine the heating capacity required.
As clean as nature – without any disturbing emissions
In particular allergy sufferers and people with a sensitive respiratory tract will pleasantly feel the beneficial effects of the infrared radiant heater and will no longer want to do without them. In contrast to electric heaters, the clean and condensation-free instant heat is generated without raising dust and without producing any disturbing noise or odours.
Low-glare: 100 % warmth, 80 % less light
Conventional infrared heaters without low-glare technology often emit an intensive orange-reddish light together with the heat radiation, which is perceived as warm and cosy by many people. However, to prevent the environment from being illuminated too strongly or even having a bothersome effect, the IR 2005 from Trotec is provided with a carbon infrared tube with light-reducing low-glare technology.
Advantages of the low-glare technology
Romantic candle-light atmosphere: Low-glare shortwaves produce a larger portion of infrared light from the invisible range – and with an undiminished heating capacity. The infrared radiation is further collimated by an innovative coating procedure of the tubes that reduces the scattering loss. Trotec carbon radiant heaters with low-glare technology therefore achieve an overall brightness reduction of up to 80 % while providing a lifetime of approx. 10,000 hours.
Full heat output with a reduced brightness: Since the perceptible light is substantially reduced, the direct environment of the radiant heater conveys the impression of a cosy candle-light atmosphere, creating a perceptibly more pleasant ambience. An existing lighting concept on the terrace or in catering areas is altogether much less affected.
Just a small tip in case you’re wondering: Low-glare carbon heating tubes have the same intensive reddish appearance when you look at them as conventional infrared radiant heaters without low-glare. Actually, however, they emit 80 % less of visible light. With the same heat output – for more comfort and romance.

Overview of the maximum heating range to be covered by a 2,000 watt infrared radiant heater:
You can proceed as follows to calculate the heating capacity (in watts) required for your room size:
Formula: m² x W/m² = W
room size (m²) x recommended heating capacity per square metre (W/m²) = required heating capacity of the infrared radiator (W)
Sample calculation: For a room sized 20 m² with very good insulation quality, we recommend the following heating capacity: 20 m² x 100 W/m² = 2,000 W
