When summer turns up its heat once again, the 4-in-1 air cooler PAE 31 (air cooling, air freshening, ventilation and humidification) provides an icy fresh air flow for quick cooling. The PAE 31 cools its air current down to 2 – 3 °C and thus ensures an optimal temperature difference between outside and inside temperature so that the body is not unnecessarily stressed. The high-performance blower with turbo spin technology and a range of 10 metres cools down hot living and business rooms, conservatories, offices and shops to pleasant room temperatures at an impressively quick speed. At the same time, the all-rounder cleans and humidifies the room air to refresh you with clean and optimally humidified cold air. The ventilation performance of the turbo spin fan is adjustable in three stages.
Natural cooling by evaporation with economic efficiency
The innovative honeycomb cooling technology of the air cooler PAE 31 is something you know from nature. Once a breeze blows over damp skin, you immediately feel a pleasant cooling sensation on your skin. The cooling effect is caused by the evaporation of the water. The thermal energy required for this process is withdrawn from the warm air, and the temperature drops noticeably. The PAE 31 also makes use of this natural cooling effect with its cold water or ice water filling. Once the warm room air flows through the humid honeycomb filters, the air is cooled down as thermal energy is withdrawn. Then, the air is humidified with cold or ice-cold water to be cleaned in the air filter afterwards and to be finally blown out into the room as an icy fresh breeze in the shape of a hurricane via the turbo spin high-performance fan. No chemicals, no energy-consuming cooling compressors and no disturbing exhaust air hoses are used in this process.
The hotter the day, the stronger the cooling capacity
Where conventional air conditioners reach their performance limits, the PAE 31 turns up its cooling capacity. The warmer the room air, the faster the humidity evaporates inside the honeycomb filter and the more heat is withdrawn from the air due to the evaporation process. So you can always rely on the cooling capacity of the PAE 31 to keep up with outside temperatures. With its powerful turbo spin air flow rate of 1,000 m³/h and a generous and easy-to-clean 6-litre water tank, the air cooler is recommended for use in rooms sized up to 26 m² or 65 m³.
Threefold improvement in indoor air quality with additional health protection
The combined air cooling, air humidification and air purification modes of the PAE 31 noticeably improve the room climate and repels pathogens from the air at the same time. The spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses (for example flu viruses) is strongly influenced by the humidity level. Optimally humidified room air has been proven to reduce the risk of viral infection and keeps the nasal mucous membranes, which are important for the immune defence, moist. As a humidifier for year-round use, the PAE 31 impresses with a humidification performance of 1.1 l/h to keep the humidity level in the optimum range of 40–60 %. In addition, the PAE 31 can be used as a refreshing fan throughout the year even without the air cooling and humidification function. To either direct the cooling air flow to a specific point or to distribute it in the entire room, the device has an on-demand all-round swing mode and air outlet fins that rotate automatically by 360° to provide for large-scale cold air distribution.

Increasing the humidity level to 50 % reduces the risk of transmission of viruses
Medical specialists have evaluated research findings relating to the resistance of viruses (e.g. SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19), influenza) to air humidity. These findings have revealed that the humidity level has a crucial impact on the infectivity of germ droplets. Dry room air with a relative humidity content of less than 40 % lets tiny droplets infected with influenza or cold viruses dry up. This preserves pathogens so that they remain infectious for a very long time. In the optimum relative humidity range between 40 and 60 % aerosols only shrink so far that the salt concentration in the aerosol core increases, causing the germs and microorganisms contained to be killed. This minimizes the risk of an infection with influenza and cold viruses.
Medical specialists emphasize that we are able to reduce the risk of infection by increasing the humidity level in buildings. In this way, increasing the humidity level to approx. 50 % by humidification will reduce the risk of transmission. Moreover, the humidified air improves the body's defence situation by more efficient cleaning of the air passages and an improved immune defence. In modern buildings with a watertight building envelope, central heating and ventilation systems, these limit values can often not be complied with in everyday life without active humidification. This is where devices with a humidification function come in to provide assistance.

Flow-optimized turbo spin cold air distribution
You're familiar with the problem for sure: in rooms and flat with nooks and crannies and high ceilings, the refreshing cold air does not always reach all areas of the room. As soon as you get up from your desk or sofa and cross the room, you change from a cool temperature zone to a warm one. The reason for this is an insufficient distribution of the cold air in the room.
The PAE 31 cools with no limits!
The turbo spin technology of the air cooler generates an even circulation of the cold air in the entire room. The warm air flowing into the device from three sides is cooled and then directed onto the aerodynamically shaped rotor blade of the extremely fast rotating impeller of the high-performance fan. The deeply curved fan blade ensures a particularly powerful turbulence and an enormous acceleration of the air current. The extremely compressed turbulent air current gushes out of the device as a tornado-like cold air column that revolves around itself and advances up to 10 metres into the room with a powerful volume of up to 1,000 m³/h. If the discharged air current hits the wall or ceiling, it is deflected from there to all sides. In a constant circulation the air returns to the rear of the air cooler along the walls and the ceiling. It is sucked in once more to start a new cycle. This effective turbo spin method ensures maximum circulation and mixing of the room air. The cooling effect of the air current can be felt in the entire room!
For comparison: A conventional air cooler with a comparable air flow rate blows out the cold air across a distance of approx. 6 metres. With an increasing distance, the cooling effect of the air current decreases. Owing to the turbo spin technology of the PAE 31 the air ejection distance is increased to up to 10 metres. The strongly accelerated cold air is deflected by the walls and distributed to all nooks and crannies of the room.
Night mode with reduced noise emission, adapted air flow and pleasant air freshening function
If the summer heat keeps you awake, the PAE 31 provides relief with its ultra-silent night mode. A preset programme of different fan stages lets you drift off to sleep while providing for optimal cooling. The ventilation performance is reduced every 30 minutes until the air cooler permanently cools and refreshes with minimal noise at the lowest fan stage.
Like a natural wind mode, the air freshening function provides a pleasant air flow comparable to a sea breeze by alternately increasing and reducing the ventilation intensity.
Programmable timer for energy-saving auto switch-off
The timer function of the PAE 31 allows for time-controlled cooling with individually preset switch-off time. The operating time until auto switch-off can be set to 1 h, 2 h, 4 h or 8 h. The timer function is recommended, for example, when the device is used in the office. After an 8-hour working day, the device switches off fully automatically so you do not even have to think about it.
Can be operated all year round – air cooler in the summer, humidifier in the winter
With the PAE 31 you can enjoy mobile feel-good climate throughout the year. We recommend using the slim air cooler in space-saving design throughout the year rather than parking it in a storeroom when the summer ends. In the spring and late summer its 3 fan stages can provide a fresh breeze so that you can enjoy the cooling effect of the cold evaporation.
In autumn and winter the device can be furthermore ideally used as an effective humidifier to create a more pleasant room climate. Since dry heated air can irritate the respiratory tract, dry out the skin and cause red eyes. Moreover, the multiplication of viruses within the room air is reduced at a humidity level of 50 %. By using a humidifier you provide for a sufficient humidity level and in this way can improve your own well-being in sticky, overheated rooms as well as prevent colds and virus infections.

Using air coolers as humidifiers during the wintertime
Air coolers are most effective in rooms filled with dry air. Just like humidifiers these devices operate based on the evaporation principle, i.e. they directly supply the air with cool moisture. This means that for process-related reasons the humidity level in the room is increased perceptibly. During the winter this increase of humidity is beneficial to the mucous membranes.
