The practical 40-piece set comes with 6 cross recess bits (Phillips 2 x PH1, 3 x PH2, PH3), 8 Pozidriv bits (2 x PZ1, 4 x PZ2, 2 x PZ3), 3 slotted bits (SL4, SL5, SL6), 2 Allen bits (H4, H5), 9 Torx bits (T10, T15, 2 x T20, 2 x T25, T27, T30, T40) and 9 internal double-hex sockets (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 mm).

This set also already contains the matching screwdriver with ratchet function. The bits are attached to the ratchet screwdriver by means of the adapter supplied. The sockets can be either fit directly on the screwdriver or inserted onto a, adapter with a length of 5 cm for the purpose of extension. Depending on the desired bit, the individual elements can be easily combined via quick-fit plug connection. In order to ensure an extra secure seat of the bits and sockets, the two adapters and the square head of the ratchet screwdriver is equipped with a spring-loaded ball bearing.

Screwdriver with ratchet function – compact and ingenious

The three settings "Right-handed rotation", "Left-handed rotation" or "Blocking" for tightening, loosening or blocking can be selected at the ratchet handle to always exert an optimum power transmission when tightening or loosening screws. The fold-out aluminium handle allows you to hold the tool in different positions to ensure maximum working comfort. On the whole, the stable housing of the 40-piece set establishes perfect order and can be carried along in the tool case taking up very small space, or suspended on the pegboard.

Slotted bits (SL4, SL5, SL6) for slotted screws
Screws with a slotted head only allow for a relatively low force transmission and are therefore used in particular in soft materials, e.g. wood. In order to prevent slipping or damaging the workpiece by a bit tip that is too large, the width of the slot should exactly match the screw head.

Cross recess profile bits (Phillips PH1, PH2, PH3) and Pozidriv bits (PZ1, PZ2, PZ3) for recessed-head screws
The cross profile allows for twice the force transmission of a plain slotted screw, and the risk of slipping is also reduced. The Pozidriv profile with 4 further recesses offset diagonally by 45° offers even better properties in this respect. Cross-head and Pozidriv screws can for instance be found in electrical appliances, on bicycles and motorcycles or hinge-joints of cupboards.

ALLEN outer hexagon bits (H4, H5) for internal hex screws
The matching internal hex screws (also referred to as ALLEN screws) are well suited for screw connections the screw heads of which are difficult access due to the design. You can often encounter them on motorcycles, bicycles, machines, or when you assemble furniture.

TORX hexalobular bits (T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T40) for Torx screws
Screws with a so-called internal hexalobular head feature the head form of a six-ray star with rounded corners. Compared to slotted or cross-headed screws, the Torx screws offer two substantial advantages: First of all, next to no contact pressure is required thanks to the six contact points, and secondly high torques are transmitted. This has the effect that the screw material shows almost no wear and the risk of slipping is substantially reduced. Torx screws are for example used for electronic appliances.

Double-hex sockets (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 mm) for hexagon and square screws
The double-hex retainer of the wrenches supplied is suitable for both hexagon and square nuts. The double-hex retainer provides for twice as many attachment positions for hexagon screws, preventing that you have to rotate the socket so far when the space is especially cramped. Owing to their high force transmission, hexagon screws provide for firm connections in wood or metal. They are in particular used for applications possibly requiring the tightening or retightening of screws.

Screwdriver with ratchet function
In spite of its compact dimensions, the screwdriver provided convinces by the perfect handling of the properties. The semi-circular, metallic-red handle can be folded out by 90° to allow for different holding positions. The ergonomically shaped finger recesses always allow you to have a firm and secure grip to ensure optimum force transmission. The direction rotation can be changed from left to right using the switch in the ratchet ring. You can also lock the tool completely. The ratchet is equipped with 48 teeth and offers a minimum returning angle of only 7.5°, allowing you to perform rotational movements even in narrow positions.

Bit adapter 1/4" internal square to 1/4" internal hex
In order to use the bits with the ratchet screwdriver, just attach the 2.5 cm bit adapter. By means of this adapter you can not only connect the 28 bits included in the scope of delivery, but also other attachments that are already in your possession with a matching 1/4" hexagon head. The spring-loaded ball bearing integrated into the internal hex retainer of the adapter provides for a reliable and firm grip of the bits.

To ensure that you can even reach hexagon nuts that are located in a deeper position, to extend the tool just attach the 5 cm-socket adapter to the ratchet screwdriver. In addition to the 9 sockets included in the scope of delivery you can insert further attachments from your toolbox with a matching 1/4" square head onto the adapter. The spring-loaded ball bearing integrated into the outer hexagon head provides for a reliable and firm grip of the plug connection.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FEATURES OF THE 40-piece bit and socket set

Extendable by means of the adapter — The sockets can be directly inserted on the ratchet screwdriver. As an alternative, the socket adapter with its length of 5 cm can be used as extension. The bit holder enclosed can also be directly fixed on the screwdriver or additionally inserted onto the socket adapter.

Ratchet screwdriver — The screwdriver with its integrated 360° ratchet is provided with variable counter-clockwise rotation and clockwise rotation as well as a locking function. For a small rotation angle in tight spaces, the minimum returning angle of the 48 tooth ratchet is only 7.5°.

Spring-loaded ball bearing — In order to ensure that the sockets and bit attachments are tightly and securely anchored when you perform demanding screwing tasks, both adapters and the square head of the ratchet screwdriver provide a retainer with a spring-loaded ball bearing.

Sockets — The set contains a total of 9 internal double-hex sockets in the sizes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 mm. They are suitable for hexagon and square screws or nuts. The adapter enables you to also reach screws and nuts that are seated in a deeper position.

Torx bits — Torx screws offer the perfect force transmission and working with a secure grip without slipping. The Trotec set therefore contains 9 Torx attachments in the common sizes T10, T15, 2 x T20, 2 x T25, T27, T30 and T40.

Phillips bits and Pozidriv bits — With the Phillips cross recess bits in the sizes 2 x PH1, 3 x PH2, PH3 and the Pozidriv bits in the sizes 2 x PZ1, 4 x PZ2, 2 x PZ3 , you are even ideally prepared for a variety of cross-headed screw connections.
