VarioScreen - Free-Standing Safety Screen
Emergency services and road safety authorities have long discovered the importance of so-called incident or safety screens with regard to road safety and accident prevention on and along roads and highways.
Free-standing safety screens are often erected around accident spots on or near roadways to prevent other road users from observing post incident activities carried out by paramedics or firefighters in order to protect people’s privacy and prevent more accidents from happening.
Rubbernecks – motorists who drive slowly past an accident to gape and get a better look at what is going on - are responsible for millions of miles of traffic congestion every year. But worse still, their behaviour is often the cause of countless rear-end collisions and even far more serious accidents which can occur when a motorist fails to notice the backlog in traffic which has developed at the spot where the original accident occurred and ploughs into the vehicles in the tailback.
Research carried out accident prevention agencies have shown that the quick deployment of free-standing safety screens significantly reduces rubbernecking and the potentially high risk of danger that comes with it. In fact it can even eliminate such behaviour altogether because there is simply nothing to see.
The quick-up, hard-wearing polyester safety screens from Trotec are designed to do just this – to prevent gapers, rubbernecks and prying eyes from seeing what they are not meant to see and from invading people’s privacy and to allow emergency services to do perform their duties and attend to the needs of their patients or the injured parties without being hampered while doing so.
The four connected screens, each measuring 180m x 180m (71 x 71 ins), can be erected within seconds thanks to a quick-snap mechanism which holds them in place and effectively shields any activities from view. Because the VarioScreen is so flexible, it can be easily erected in a variety of different positions and can therefore be used as a 24-foot (7.2-metre) long or a right-angled screen or an enclosure depending on the situation.
The sturdy, reliable screens whose bright, striking colours add to the safety of all those concerned can be cleaned easily after use and folded away and stored while taking up a minimum amount of space.
