There are countless types of UV flashlights - and many of them are similar in appearance, which often makes a comparison even more difficult. You should therefore pay attention to the quality of workmanship and the correct wavelength for your application requirements.
In the UV range, 380 nanometers defines the limit to visible light. UV flashlights with 390 to 410 nm therefore still have a very high proportion of visible light and only relatively little UV light, which is decisive for the excitation of fluorescent substances.
With an excitation maximum of 365 nm, the UV-Torchlight 6F is in the ultra-fine UV radiation range for many common inspection applications and for geocaching. Because it is also extremely compact and robust, the UV-Torchlight 6F is the first choice for all users who are looking for a UV-A flashlight with maximum mobile application flexibility and an optimum price-performance ratio.
Universal UV LED flashlight
The lightweight UV-Torchlight 6F with its robust housing made of high-strength aluminum alloy is a universally applicable UV LED flashlight for leisure or professional use, as its UV spectrum with a high degree of purity of 365 nanometers is exactly in the right UV radiation range for many common applications.
With the UV-Torchlight 6F you can, for example, quickly and conveniently check security features on ID documents and banknotes, examine works of art for abnormalities under UV light or carry out hygiene inspections and checks on cleaning staff.
In addition, fluorescent fluid additives can also be used to detect leaks in fluid lines, for example in automotive or domestic installations.
Of course, the UV-Torchlight 6F is also ideal for geocaching at night and for hygiene checks in kitchens, bathrooms or hotel rooms, as its twelve ultraviolet high-performance LEDs not only make UV dyes visible, but also traces of dried blood, sweat or other liquids. In this way, pet owners can easily check that their pets are house-trained.
Thanks to a length of less than 10 cm, the UV-Torchlight 6F is always ready to hand, even in the smallest of pockets, and can be conveniently switched on and off using the practical end cap switch.
Differences to UV-A hand lamps for professional applications
Professional hand-held UV-A lamps such as the UV-Torchlight 15F have been specially designed to meet the requirements of commercial fluorescence detection, for example for locating leaks in liquid-carrying systems or for non-destructive tracer detection during material testing.
Five key performance parameters determine the manufacturing costs here: radiant power, radiation cone, range, radiation wavelength and LED quality. The stronger the radiation power, the wider the beam cone of the UV light, the greater the illumination range, the more specific and precise the radiation wavelength and the higher the quality of the LEDs, the more expensive the devices are to manufacture.
The maximum radiation intensity of our professional UV-A hand lamps is 365 nm and therefore corresponds to the optimum excitation wavelength for many common fluorescent fluid additives for leak detection or powders for material testing.
Thanks to their wide beam cone and significantly higher range, fluorescence phenomena can often be made visible over large areas even under normal lighting conditions.
