Mini particle measuring device BQ21
Bluetooth® environmental measuring device with smartphone app for recording / evaluating fine dust pollution from E-dust (PM10) and A-dust (PM2.5)
Particle measurement protects employees, customers, guests and trainees
Excessive dust pollution at the workplace not only endangers the health of employees and colleagues, but also causes increased particle concentrations in the indoor air which affects products to be processed, inventories and technical equipment. For this reason, many countries now have legal limits for fine dust concentrations, compliance with which must be checked regularly, especially at the workplace, in schools, day-care centres, nursing homes and public offices.
Air quality control made easy: BQ21 with Bluetooth® connectivity
With the smart Bluetooth® handheld BQ21, you can keep an eye on the particle contamination of the ambient air even over longer periods of time. The particle measuring device with a flash memory for 5,000 datasets records all health-relevant indoor climate parameters such as air temperature, humidity and dust fractions < 10 micrometres according to the internationally used PM standard (Particulate Matter) as PM10 and PM2.5 (number and size as well as mass concentration of particles in the air). The air pollution is displayed on the 2.0 inch colour display either as a particle count or numerically in micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³) of indoor air. In addition, a bar graph indicator informs about the status of the current particle load by means of a colour bar.
Acoustic alarm in case of bad air
Particularly practical: limit values for good air quality defined by the WHO (World Health Organization) are already stored in the BQ21. If the particle load or particle concentration exceeds the WHO alarm limit, an acoustic signal sounds.
Evaluation and logging including MultiMeasure mobile app
As the latest generation of environmental measuring devices, the BQ21 is 100 percent "MultiMeasure Mobile ready" and therefore equipped for all requirements of professional measurement data evaluation and documentation. The recorded measurement data are easily and conveniently transferred to a smartphone or tablet via the integrated Bluetooth® interface, where they can be professionally evaluated or logged using the free MultiMeasure Mobile app (Android and iOS).
The advantageous combination of BQ21 and professional MultiMeasure
Mobile evaluation software enables fast and reliable statements to be
made at any time on the prevailing fine dust concentration in the indoor
air - including a wide range of analysis options such as logging
function for long-term measurements, graphical evaluations, report
function and data synchronization with our professional MultiMeasure
Professional software via cloud.
Health hazards from E-dust and A-dust
Fine dust, which is hazardous to health, consists of a complex mixture of the most varied of particles and is divided into different fractions depending on size. Depending on the type, particle size and location of the deposition, dust can cause serious irritation and disorders of the respiratory tract, skin and eyes.
Therefore, regular control of the particle load in the room air is recommended in order to find targeted solutions to reduce the particle load and to protect the people present if necessary.
E-dust (PM10) - suspended matter inhaled through the mouth and nose
Dust that can be inhaled and penetrates into the nasal cavity is called E-dust (formerly coarse dust) and defines the dust size fraction PM10 as all dust particles with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 10 micrometers. This easily visible dust usually occurs on construction sites, in production or during manual work and is also carried into the room when the windows are open.
A dust (PM2.5) - respirable suspended matter
The PM2.5 dust size fraction - also called A dust - comprises very fine particles with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 3 micrometers, which are so small that they can penetrate into the smallest branches of the lungs, the so-called alveoli. The best-known sources of particulate matter include emissions from internal combustion engines and industrial systems, but also the abrasion of brakes and tires on the road, which means that even modern electric cars cause harmful particulate matter.
For comparison: a human hair measures approx. 50 to 70 µm in diameter and is therefore 5 to 7 times larger than E-dust and up to 28 times larger than A-dust.
MultiMeasure mobile app - smart measurement data acquisition and measurement data evaluation
With the free MultiMeasure mobile app, the recorded measurement data becomes even more transparent. Just like the MultiMeasure Studio Professional 2.0 analysis software developed by Trotec, for cross-device management, analysis and reporting of the measurement data on the PC, the MultiMeasure Mobile app, which is available free of charge for Android and iOS devices, enables professional measurement data management with a large number of useful functions . The handheld measuring device BQ21 and numerous other measuring devices with a Bluetooth® interface are automatically recognized by the app and can be quickly and easily connected to the mobile device without cables.
The functionality of the MultiMeasure Mobile app goes far beyond the simple display of the recorded measurement values. All recorded data can be displayed either numerically or in graphical form and, using the logging function, can also be recorded as a series of measurements for long-term evaluation. Even assigning the measurement data to different projects (e.g. departments, rooms, buildings, etc.) is child's play with the multi-client app - including text and report templates for professional measurement data reports.
Benefits for practice:
- Compact environmental measuring unit for recording fine dust pollution and climate data
- 2-inch color display for simultaneous display of all measured parameters
- Storage for up to 5,000 records
- Direct conversion and display of the concentration of E-dust or A-dust fractions in the room air in micrograms per cubic meter of air
