The ozone treatment of interior spaces is an equally effective and proven procedure for large-surface disinfection applications or for the effective elimination of odours resulting from fire and water damage.
So far, however, it has been required after every treatment to wait for the lengthy process of ozone depletion first, in the course of which the unoxidized ozone in the room slowly disintegrates into oxygen in a natural way. Because the rooms treated previously can only be safely entered if the values measured fall below the prescribed limit values again.
In the case of the natural disintegration method without oxygen regeneration technology, the specific half-life period of ozone determines the decay process. In interior spaces and under normal conditions, ozone usually has a half-life of approx. 30 to 60 minutes. This means that the ozone concentration in the room air only halves every hour in a natural way. The larger the room treated and the more powerful the ozone disinfector, the higher the ozone concentration in the room and, correspondingly, the more time-consuming the natural disintegration process.
In particular in the case of regular disinfection applications in the same rooms, the application-related reagent reduction furthermore inevitably brings about ever increasing ozone depletion phases, the waiting time until the room can be used safely again increases steadily, leading to ever more costly downtimes.
Effective lateral aeration could also accelerate the ozone depletion, however, the treated rooms are only rarely equipped adequately with the required possibilities for ventilation, for instance hotel rooms are often provided with secured windows, or cellar, storage and archive rooms do not have any windows.

The Zerozon 200 enables technical oxygen regeneration in ozone-laden rooms and in this way significantly accelerates their economical reusability. With the Zerozon 200, depending on the operating conditions, rooms that are decomposed with ozone can already be entered and used safely again after one thirtieth of the time that would be required for natural ozone disintegration!
Unique master-slave solution for an accelerated ozone depletion – exclusively available only at Trotec
The Zerozon 200 was designed specially for the combined use with all ozone disinfectors of the Airozon® Professional series was particularly designed for companies that primarily aim to use ozone generators for own purposes, beyond professional disinfection or fire or water damage restoration. For this purpose the Zerozon 200 is equipped with a dedicated power supply and a control panel for the Airozon® Professional device connected and in this way allows for synchronized combined operation of the two devices. As an alternative, standalone operation of the Zerozon 200 can also be performed.
In the Airozon® combi mode, the Zerozon 200 automatically switches off the coupled Airozon® device after reaching the treatment duration configured and automatically starts with the technical oxygen regeneration. For this purpose, the Zerozon 200 can be assembled with powerful special filters which effect an accelerated catalytic ozone depletion.
This special procedure for the ozone decomposition via the Zerozon 200 and originally fleece-coated catalysis filters from Trotec allow for a depletion process that is up to 30 times faster than the natural decay!
By the combined use of the Zerozon 200, therefore drastically shorter treatment times can be implemented, and the areas treated can be entered and used again much earlier!
